Carrboro High School
Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools, Carrboro, North Carolina
Carrboro High School’s 1,800-student design is contextually appropriate for architectural character of the town and marries its regional characteristics of liberal arts and southern hospitality. This educational environment was designed to welcome learning and create a sense of place for students and staff. The heart of the school is the library learning center, the physical and intellectual centerpiece of the school. Serving as a model of sensible energy use, environmental protection, and community stewardship, this school earned LEED Silver certification in 2008 and was designed according to Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools’ High Performance Building Design Criteria policy.
